the real luxuries only a believer understands

salam my friend!

we chase so much in this world.

the perfect career.

the dream home.

these are the luxuries of this world.

they look beautiful from the outside.

but there are some real luxuries which only a believer understands!

they cannot be bought, earned or achieved.

they can only be received.

they're gifts from Allah.

you might be thinking what these luxuries are?

Let me share them with you.

1. waking up with your imaan intact

"And [remember] when your Lord proclaimed: 'If you are grateful, I will surely increase you [in favor].'" - Surah Ibrahim, 14:7

every morning you open your eyes, before you check your phone, before anxiety creeps in, before the to-do list floods your mind.

you still believe.

You believe in Allah. You believe in His mercy. You believe there's a purpose to your life.

that's not small.

many people wake up lost. Empty.

searching for meaning in everything except the One who created them.

but you? You wake up and your first thought can be "Alhamdulillah."

your imaan didn't leave you overnight.

your heart didn't harden while you slept.

you didn't wake up severed from your Creator.

you woke up still connected.

The Prophet ﷺ said: "When one of you wakes up, let him say: 'All praise is due to Allah who returned my soul to me after taking it in sleep, and to Him is the resurrection.'"

every morning is a resurrection. A return. A mercy.

and your imaan intact, soft, still believing,

is the greatest luxury you could ever wake up with.

2. praying without rush

"Successful indeed are the believers who are humble in their prayers." - Surah Al-Mu'minun, 23:1-2

Most of us pray. But how many of us truly pray?

How many of us stand before Allah without our minds racing through everything we need to do after?

How many of us make sujood and actually feel our forehead touch the earth, knowing we're in the presence of the King of all kings?

To pray without rush is a luxury.

It means you're not treating salah like a transaction.

You're treating it like a meeting with the Beloved.

The Prophet ﷺ used to say: "The comfort of my eyes is in prayer."

Not "the obligation." Not "the duty." The comfort.

When you pray without rush:

  • You feel every word of Surah Al-Fatiha

  • You pause in ruku and actually glorify Him

  • Your sujood becomes a conversation, not a checklist

  • You walk away feeling lighter, not just "done"

This is what salah was meant to be.

Not something you squeeze into your schedule, but something your schedule revolves around.

When you have the luxury of praying without rush, you're tasting what the people of Jannah will taste forever: uninterrupted connection with Allah.

3. Company That Reminds You of Allah

"And keep yourself patient [by being] with those who call upon their Lord in the morning and the evening, seeking His Face." - Surah Al-Kahf, 18:28

Not everyone has this.

Some people are surrounded by those who pull them away from Allah.

Who mock their deen.

Who make them feel strange for wanting to be close to their Creator.

But if you have even one person in your life who:

  • Reminds you of Allah when you forget

  • Corrects you with love when you stray

  • Prays for you without you knowing

  • Makes you want to be a better Muslim just by being around them

You have one of the rarest luxuries on earth.

The Prophet ﷺ said: "A person is upon the religion of his close friend, so let one of you look at whom he befriends." (Tirmidhi)

Your companions shape your heart.

They either lift it toward Allah or pull it toward dunya.

If your friends remind you to pray, to be patient, to trust Allah's timing

you are wealthy beyond measure.

And if you don't have that yet?

Make dua for it.

Ask Allah to surround you with those who call you to Him, not away from Him.

"O Allah, do not make my companionship a source of trial, and do not make my heart harden through bad company."

4. The Ability to Seek Forgiveness

"And whoever does a wrong or wrongs himself but then seeks forgiveness of Allah will find Allah Forgiving and Merciful." - Surah An-Nisa, 4:110

You sinned. We all do.

But here's the luxury: You can still turn back.

Your heart isn't sealed.

Your tongue can still say "Astaghfirullah."

Your soul still feels the weight of distance from Allah and that feeling?

That's mercy.

The Prophet ﷺ said: "By the One in Whose hand is my soul, if you did not sin, Allah would replace you with a people who would sin and then seek forgiveness, so He could forgive them." (Muslim)

Allah loves to forgive. He wants you to return.

The door of tawbah is open until your last breath.

Imagine if it wasn't?

Imagine if one sin meant you were done.

Cut off.

No way back.

But Allah, in His infinite mercy, left the door open. Always.

When you say "Astaghfirullah," you're not just asking for forgiveness.

You're stepping back into His presence.

You're saying: "I messed up, but I still believe You'll take me back."

And He does.

Every single time.

That's not just mercy.

That's love.

5. A Heart That Softens When Hearing the Qur'an

"Allah has sent down the best statement: a consistent Book wherein is reiteration. The skins shiver therefrom of those who fear their Lord; then their skins and their hearts relax at the remembrance of Allah." - Surah Az-Zumar, 39:23

Not everyone feels this.

Some people hear the Qur'an and feel nothing.

Their hearts are hard.

Sealed.

Distant.

But if you hear an ayah and your chest tightens.

 that's a gift.

If you listen to Surah Ar-Rahman and tears come without you understanding why

that's Allah speaking to your soul.

If certain verses hit you differently depending on what you're going through

that's because the Qur'an is alive.

The Prophet ﷺ said: "The best of you are those who learn the Qur'an and teach it." (Bukhari)

But before teaching, before memorizing, before perfecting tajweed,

feel it.

Let it break you open.

Let it soften what life has hardened.

Let it remind you that you're not just a body walking through life

you're a soul returning to its Creator.

When your heart softens at the Qur'an, you're experiencing what the Sahaba experienced.

What the angels experience.

What the people of Jannah will feel forever.

You're tasting eternity in this temporary world.

6. A Soul That Finds Peace in Surrendering to Him

"Unquestionably, by the remembrance of Allah hearts are assured." - Surah Ar-Ra'd, 13:28

This is the deepest luxury of all.

To surrender and feel peace.

Not surrender and feel defeated.

Not surrender and feel hopeless.

But surrender and feel safe.

Because you know: He's got this.

The job you didn't get? He knows why.

The marriage that didn't work out? He's protecting you.

The delay you're frustrated about? His timing is perfect.

Tawakkul isn't passive.

It's active trust.

It's saying: "Ya Allah, I've done my part. Now I trust You with the outcome."

And when you do that

when you truly let go

something miraculous happens.

Your chest loosens.

Your breath deepens.

Your mind stops racing.

Because you're no longer carrying the weight of controlling everything.

The Prophet ﷺ said: "If you were to rely upon Allah with true reliance, He would provide for you just as He provides for the birds: they go out in the morning with empty stomachs and return full." (Tirmidhi)

The birds don't panic.

They don't hoard.

They don't spiral into anxiety.

They fly out, trusting.

And Allah fills them.

That's the peace of surrender.

When your soul finds rest in Him

not in outcomes, not in control, not in knowing how everything will work out

you've found the secret the whole world is searching for.

The Invitation

These luxuries aren't for the elite.

They're not for the scholars, the pious, or the perfect.

They're for you.

Right now. Today.

You don't need to earn them.

You just need to notice them.

Wake up tomorrow and say "Alhamdulillah" before anything else.

Pray your next salah without looking at the clock.

Reach out to that friend who reminds you of Allah.

Say "Astaghfirullah" even when you don't feel like you deserve forgiveness.

Listen to one surah and let yourself feel it.

Let go of one thing you're clinging to and say "I trust You, ya Allah."

These are the real luxuries.

And they're already yours.
